I'm trying to decide between these two bed liners. I will be using grey. How do you tint the Raptor? Are both liners Polyurethane? Any suggestions on these products would be appreciated ;D

I used durabak a few years ago in the bed of an S-10 I use to own. I don't know if I got a bad gallon of it or what but I had a bad experience with it. After hours of prep work and aplication time it started chipping off within a month. I've heard good things about it from others but I was thinking about doing the hurculiner on the inside of the bronco. I would like to see others responces though. anybody use the hurculiner stuff and have good/bad experiences with it?

I would say go with Raptor between the two of those. Just remember that the surface has to be very clean and make sure your final wipe down leaves no residue - I had really good luck prepping with denatured alcohol.

I used SEM Pro-Tex which is similar to Raptor. Its a two part system that I believe is a polyurethane. It applies well with a standard undercoating gun you can buy anywhere for $15.

I have zero miles on my SEM liner but I have dragged my roll cage across it several times, and dropped a bunch of tools on it with minimal ill-effects. It does scratch but its definitely tougher than paint!

Durabak even makes it.

I thought alcohol and/ or acetone was a no no with poly urethane products.

I just used the aerosol version of the Duplicolor liner. Looks real good.
I did this literally yesterday, then it got rained on for 12hrs straight:mad: .
Still looks nice though. It seems to be WAY better than the Herculiner crap,
which I've made the mistake of using in the past. I'll let everyone know
how well its doing in a few months.

What is the deal with SEM Pro-tex never herd of it?

The SEM is excellent stuff, I havent used it but Mark and 2Bad used it and it looks excellent. I have used the Raptor twice and recommended it to several others that have been very happy with it. It is also very affordable and a 2 part is almost always going to be of better quality than a single. I used the tintable and it was very easy, did a grey for the floors and white for the inside of the hard top. You can also get extra quarts if needed. Here are pics of the grey liner, so far so good. The texture is very nice, a little slick but not sandpapery like linex. I'd recommend a rubber mat to go on top if you dont want your stuff sliding all over the place.

The fourth pic shows the texture, its actually a pic of a plop of poop that got dropped when I rolled it into the sun for a few to get the fumes dissipated.

As far as for prep, the Raptor is real easy and can even be touched up later by just spraying over top after a good cleaning. I sprayed mine just after painting, figured the overspray would make for a very good surface and it did.

You can get the raptor on eb ay or your local auto paint store. Should be about 125 with the gun to use with their liner.

I sprayed SEM in mine too. I think it turned out great, however I'm scared to death of "abusing" it at all. It was a lot of work (documented in my gallery) and I'm unsure about the durability of it.

raptor is a pretty good product, i have used both black and the tintable versions on various applications. i have tinted this with a single stage paint,(usually ppg concept), and it is super easy to spray. personally my new fav. bedliner which is going into my 72 is called 'shake and shoot'. i only know that is around in black but you may be able to get it tintable, still an afforable product with a more commercial look in my opinion. pics in a few weeks when done, also has the same easy prep as raptor by the way, and it is at most paint stores as well.

Now I'm considering tinting it the color of the bronco, poly green gold. Wonder how that would look?

I ended up going with the Raptor liner(tintable version). I really liked it, good product and easy to use. I did run out of product. The kit's come with 4 bottles , I needed 5. The picture taped to the bed is Crawlin 68's tub after it was sprayed, I liked how it was done so I copied it. ;D
