I decided to build a permanent tablet mount for my bronco. I needed a windows tablet with GPS. My goal be able to play movies, listen to MP3's, program my Holley EFI, Use my SDR# radio, program my ham radio via chirp, have front and rear facing cameras.

Nice setup!

I have been looking for ways to mount a tablet for navigation and other things while out exploring. My biggest hold up is trying to make it dust proof seeing as how I have no doors.

I wanted something permanent. Cool thing is it auto powers on from sleep when I start the car. The plastic one I had on there was shaky and unstable. This custom made mount is as solid as a rock. I also have a trail camera now.

My experience with ball mounts is that they bounce around allot. I looked around and tried a few different mounts. I didn't want to make my own mount. I just wanted something rock solid that did not shake.

Nice work on the mount!

I'm doing something similar but with Android. Found a locking box for a Galaxy TAB. I'll hard mount it to the rollbar where it crosses the dash. Its primary use will be gauges, but I'll use it for media and GPS too.

Got an Asus Eee netbook sitting on a RAM mount in the CTD. Vibration has never been an issue. Not saying it doesn't vibrate, but the times that it does I'm too busy to pay it any attention and the device doesn't seem to care.

Where did you find this box for the Galaxy Tab. I'm using a Ram mount right now but it would be nice to be able to lock it up.

Is that the torque App? I'm guessing you are running ODBII fuel injection correct?
