It finally got here! This 1975 Bronco has been sitting in my brothers barn in Texas for the past seven years. He asked if I wanted it and like any red blooded American I said YES. So I arranged to have it shipped with delivery right after Christmas. It got stranded in Austin after the hauled broke down. The hauled finally got repaired with delivery in Loxahatchee, FL made Easter.

Besides not working, it looks in decent shape. There is surface rust all over with only the drivers floor and panel beneath the drivers door going all the way through. My first mission is going to take it apart and sand it down and get %)it protected from the wet Florida weather.

In the long run i plan on installing disk breaks and power stearing. i figured taking axels off an existing vehicle would be the easiest way. What would be the best vehicle t take the axels from.

I also plan on changing the transmission. is it feasible to change it from automatic and go with the 5 speed manual? Or should I go with the AOD?

Thanks for any help.

Looking at the pictures of the engine, it looks like in has power steering and probably disc with the brake booster. Anyway, looks like a good start and has potential.:)

The tags expired in 04. I know he kept riding it off road for a few years after that. It does have power brakes. They are drum. After reading your posts I went out for another look and it does have power steering. For some reason I was thinking he said it didn't. So, I contacted him and he said it was factory steering. He installed the power brakes.

Thanks for your input. I'll stick with the axles and just switch them to disc.

I'm alreadycontacting people about building a carport so I have a place to work on her.

I have to greatly appreciate this site. Up to this point my mechanical experience has been changing oil, tires, and spark plugs. With the occassional repairs I thought I could manage. This Bronco is going to be a big education.
