Hello gang,
I'm cleaning up the interior of my 66 and am going to replace the vinyl on the seats. I just finished doing the interior of my rabbit convertible and thought what the hay... My bronco is a '66, purchased in '69 by my father in law from the original owner. I ordered vinyl seat covers front and rear from eckler's/mac's, have had good success with them in the past. But, the front seat back cover didn't fit. To make a long story short, on the seat back, and on the seat base are attached with hog rings two metal tags. On the passenger seat back are two tags that read "SS 8 17 72" and "SS ADR 55337 03BB 1064701 AA" After reading about seats, and measuring the seat back panel on my seat is 16-1/2"tall, and the new one is 19" tall, it appears my seats are not original. TBP says the original seat back panel was 19", matches what i purchased, and later seats were around 16", matches what was in the truck. Can anybody provide an interpretation of what the two tags say? One certainly seems like a date. The matching tag on the front passenger seat bottom is "SS 8 16 72" and the other tag is "SS ADR 53352 03BB 1063100 AA." Before I order seat covers for seats from a 72 bronco i need to know if these seats are even bronco seats. The sun visors are silver, rear bench seat is silver but the two front seats were white. I removed the white vinyl to find under it foam and parchment colored vinyl, with silver backs. removed those and was attaching the new silver vinyl when i discovered it didn't fit... Any help is very much appreciated, and I hope i can return the favor some day, thank you!
