Looking for some info/websites/forums/threads for a friend who is swapping a 1990 efi 460 into his 79 F150. specifically looking for parts lists, how-to's, pictures and write ups.

the 79 had a 351M/435. the 90 donor truck is a 2wd auto. he is a carb guy so little knowledge of EFI systems. I've done an EFI swap and modified my own harness but I don't want to spend 50 hours on the phone explaining where the pink wire goes. he is 200 miles away so I would like to point him to some good resources.

I assume the F150 would be the same as a FS Bronco as far as the 460 swap is concerned or even the 460efi-to-stock wire harness mods.

here is the stuff that needs to be done
-motor mounts
-flywheel/pressure plate/clutch
-exhaust
-high pressure fuel system
-air intake plumbing & filter
-efi harness wiring graft

thanks!

My truck already came with a 460, so swapping a 460 efi was nearly a bolt in. If I am not mistaken the 351M/400 perches are same as 460. I am also thinking the bellhousing and all clutch related parts are same. Wiring isnt much different than any other swap out. You can put the ECM anywhere there is an empty spot. The 460 EFI looks more lke a carb'ed motor, but heads cannot be swapped out with early ones. Its best as a whole motor swap. Alternator and power steering pumps should even be similar or same. You dont need a step by step or website for this one. The wiring is only thing thats an issue. Just splice the wires basically same as doing a Bronco or older Mustang. The generic 4 relays to control everything, and its done.
