I Just Finished Transplanting An 87 Efi From A Lincoln. Everything Is Great Except For Too Much Black Smoke During Full Throttle.
Any Suggestions ??? I Found A Pump From A Early 90's Mustang Fits Perfectly In The Stock Tank. I Am Replacing The Fuel Pressure Regulator This Week End.

it may just be a bad Fuel Pressure Regulator, that year has no mass air flow meter, it uses the map sensor and TPS sensor, to mix the fuel

Sounds like the FPR, It is kind of funny that it is only like that at full throttle though. IME when one goes bad it is way bad. ie. too much fuel across the whole RPM and it wouldn't run unless the foot was on the gas, and then it ran like crap and spit more fuel out the pipes than it burned. Very dangerous. That was in a 4.0L ranger. I guess it is an extreme example. Can you check the line pressure. I think the are about 35psi stock. Maybe Ryan will chime in on this.
