EFI Code 96

Would appreciate any ideas.....RJM harness, would like to start this thing.....Self test shows a 23 (I can replace the TPS) and a 96 (Relay did not send current to the fuel pump).

The pump runs when power is applied to it. If the ignition's on and I ground the Fuel Pump pin on the Self Test connector I can hear the relay (key on), but the pump doesn't run. No relay or pump run when I cycle the key on without the STI shorted.

Any ideas? Frankly, I'm not a "build your own harness" guy.

Do you have an inertia switch installed?

Codes do NOT mean to throw part$ at it. Get out a digital multimeter, and test it:



If the TPS fails, THEN you can replace it. ;D But NOT with a cheapo zone part.

If it passes, the problem is either in the wiring, or in the EEC.
