But to answer your question on power I would say I gained some.....I doubt it's overall horsepower but it feels stronger because its smoother....I didn't go this route for horsepower but for the simplicity of the system.....I wanted the reliability of FI but one that was in a kit form.....yes I do feel that it has more power but I think that comes from the throttle response mostly....I chose to use the smaller 4.3 TB instead of the 5.7 TB....it fits my motor perfect its just a rebuilt near stock motor....I'm not gonna win any drag races but it feels so much better and I know this sounds funny but the biggest diff I have noticed is how much less fuel I use on a full day on the trails......I wasn't really expecting how much less fuel I'm using but hey I'll take it....lol.... I wish I would have done it earlier......it just so u know I run the stock dizzy with the orig. Pertronix igniter with accel coil and wires and e3 spark plugs....nothing fancy.....let me know if u have any other questions.....one of the best mods I have done
Any updates on how it is working/ running a year after your install. I'm going to order the same kit from affordable fuel injection and was just wondering how it is holding up after a year of use
Just got back from smorr a few weeks ago and once again did not have one problem....I haven't had a single problem with this kit ....... It has started and ran every time I have asked it to with no prob.....lol now that I think about it I've never even had the air cleaner off since I put the kit on......I say do it....wish I had done it years ago....def. do the Lokar throttle cable and the pressure gauge so u can keep an eye on the psi..... Not that I have had to but it's nice to have in case u do......
And also I may have put in the thread somewhere u are going to have to take your fuel sending unit out of the tank and cut the white sock(filter) off or don't expect it to work....it will idle fine but I promise u it will die about a mile down the road every single time.....(ask me how I know)..... It has to be done so it can pull enough fuel through....the sock(filter) holes are to small and will run it out of gas under load....u have to cut it off...takes two seconds
Good to hear that it is working so well, I can't wait to get it installed. I have a new 23 gallon tank so I don't have to worry about the filter on the sending unit.
Yes I run the external pump that came with the kit and yes I have the return to the tank.....I run stock tank stock style sending unit........under load(giving it gas) the holes were so fine on the sock that it would not let enough gas pass through which would make it run out of gas....cut it off and never had an issue......
