It will work but you will need to get a lower profile intake. Unless you want to cut the hood. I got mine out of an 88 Bronco. Same engine

Is it a 5.8 or 5.0? Either way the block and tranny will work, with some mods. Niether EFI set ups will work without crazy hood mods. EFI on these are not as friendly for Broncos. 5.0 has 50 oz ext balance system, which means a special harmonic balancer and/or flywheel will be needed , depending on tranny used. 5.8 is a 28ox ext balanced engine, which means the orig bronco harmonic balancer, and flywheel can be used, as well as the belt system(with the PS and alt bracket adapter. If your bronco is retaining the orig clutch system, neither 5.0 or 5.8 will have the boss drilled and tapped on the block for the clutch bracket. A adapter is avail, but I had to adapt the adapter to make mine work. Theres a whole lotta other info as well, but I think you get the picture

Are you referring to the explorer setup? If you are i thought you could run the 50 oz balance with this setup. If your not ignore me.

I have been reading www.fordfuelinjection.com and they have a wealth of knowledge. There is a write up in there that they did for a magazine and it spells out the goods and bads of what each year had to offer.

Read all of these if have not already. http://www.fordfuelinjection.com/?p=62

Idaho, no I was referring to the 5.8 EFI block. Since all 5.8 engines were 28oz externally balanced, you could bolt on all the accesories(timong chain cover, waterpump, alt, PS, flywheel/flexplate) from the original bronco 302. The bracket adapters for the PS and alternator bracket will allow the 302 Bronco bracketry to be bolted to the wider 5.8/351W block. Most 5.8 truck engines came with a 4 boly harmonic balancer, and a long nose waterpump, which will interfere with the frame crossmember and radiator in the early bronco.

I was referring to the TRUCK 5.0 and 5.8 manifolds. If you retained the upper and lower manifilds and wiring/ECU, you would have to modifye the hood. On the 5.0 truck engine, you can replace the upper and lower intake with ones from the car, which have the lower profile, You will also have to unravel the engine harness, and re-route and replace some plugs to work with the car TB. I think the pinout on the truck ecu is different than the car ecu, so if you try to run a car harness with the truck ecu, it may not work. The 5.8 truck lower manifold can be retained, and an adapter made by BCB can be used to run the Mustang MAF system(90-93GT Mustang) The MAF system allows for the differnces between the 5.0 and 5.8 air/fuel requiremnts. This is the system I am running, and I still have some hood interference even with a 2 inch bodylift.

OK, but the 3 parts of the intake (throttle body, plenum, & manifold) are just 3 parts - the rest of the truck EFI system (sensors, actuators, EEC, wiring, vacuum...) works perfectly with no hood mods. And the car intake is common & cheap, so it's an obvious swap that allows the truck EFI system to drop into an eB and work virtually as-designed. I didn't have to change any plugs - I transferred the truck parts to the car intake, rerouted the harness, and bolted it all down. It runs fine.
