Gentlemen, I am looking at only having an electric fan to cool my new 302. I found a 16" flex-a-lite that pushes 2,000 cfm @ 2,000 rpm. Is that enough or do I need more cfms? Thanks

Go with the ford Taurus Electric fan... you can probably get it from a yard for $20.

I have maybe 3.5" of clearance, will it fit? Or I guess I should ask, what are the demensions of the Taurus fan?

From tip to tail the fan motor is just over 4". It will not fit with a V-belt setup unless you modify the core support. to move the radiator forward. (Trust me Im dealing with this right now, but I have no way to move the rad. forward)

So, back to square one. Does anyone know how many CFMs an electric fan has to push to keep a 302 cool? How about how many CFMs does the Taurus fan push/pull?

Most people that use electric fans other than the taurus fan endup having cooling issues and go back to the mechanical one. The small size of the bronco radiator makes it hard to find aftermarket setups that will pull enough CFM's. As usually 2 fans would be needed. but just wont fit. Other than the ability to turn off the fan at water crossings electric fans dont offer any real benefit.
