Electric windshield wiper replacement. (Old '66 vacuum ones)

My vacuum wipers are the most pathetic ones you will ever find. No suction. When you hit the gas, they stop, reguardless where they are on the windshield. The hoses are probably as hard as rock now (the top has never been taken off so there's no telling what condition they're in). Does anybody know where I could get individual, non-syncronized electric motors? I need this car safe before the rain hits!

Thanks

Wildhorses4x4.com and Tom's bronco parts both sell kits. They are cheaper than any of the marine setups I looked at. I got mine from wildhorses. Install was easy, they work well.

Look at LMCtruck.com they have the same wiper non-syncro motor kit and it's cheaper than WH or Tom's. I installed it on my 68 and it works great.

I had bought the one from Tom's, it's synchronized and you have to drill slightly bigger holes in you windshield frame for theirs to fit, worked just fine, its got a black metal body around it.

why not put a OEM electric set up on it?

need to modify the linkage, due to the holes in the windshields having different measurements between vacuum and electric, it can be done, lots of people have done it, I myself went with the kit from Tom's, very easy and works well

I know i will get shit for this one, but i have a set from jc whitney. They run about $35 a piece, and you have to wire them in.

If its a temp thing, i would go that route. I will be buying the $200 kit from tom's eventualy.

My secret trick, go shopping at junkyards and find hatchback wipers. Generally very little use and no one wants them, so they are cheap. 90° swing is perfect.Look for something that rotates counterclockwise from the parked position. Take the whole arm and motor. Trim the arm as needed and use a shorter wiper blade.

That was done back when I had way more time and little money. Now have less time but still no money. How does that happen?

I've had the cheapie set from JCWhitney with the two indvidual motors in the past, and tended to replace the motors annually. I was glad when the windshield frame finally rotted out and I replaced it with a new one that could take OEM type wipers.
