Afternoon fellas,

I haven't posted in awhile, but wanted to ask a quick question.

My radio shorts out whenever I put my turn signal on, brake hard, and park. That must mean its in the steering column correct?

Would a new turn switch remedy the problem.

Any help or stories of repair would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Warren

What exactly do you mean by "shorts out"? It stops playing? There's static? The fuse blows? Is the truck's wiring stock? Is the radio stock? What transmission do you have? Have you looked at the wiring harness near the column & shifter, including under the truck?

Sorry, I should have been more specific.

The radio used to pop the 14amp fuses about every other day. I thought I fixed it by reaffixing the ground wire under the dash.

Now the radio just shuts off entirely. The wiring is stock and the truck is an AT.

Are there any good websites for stock wiring?

So now, the fuse DOESN'T blow when the radio quits? If so, check voltage on the radio power wire WHILE the radio won't work (key ON, of course).

This one & the NEXT three are the stock wiring for your truck:
