somewhere in time one of the owners of my 69 bronco removed the entire emergency brake system. a friend gave me a pedal assembly and the rest of the parts i ordered from a forum supplier. well the pedal assembly has a very small but very important piece not working. it is the spring that holds the emergency pedal when depressed. my question is this spring available or does anyone have an idea of how to replace the current spring with some other spring.

well i started to buy a new pedal assembly...150-200 bucks. i took a different approach. went to ace hardware for a solution. they have a very large assortment of springs. bought three different springs...5.79 dollars and used one of then to solve the problem. and, i can return the two springs i did not use....one spring 1.59!

Nice fix!
And not to be a downer here, but given that the quality of modern parts is questionable at best, while they’re still cheap, you might buy an extra spare while you know the part and it’s available.
Throw it in the glove box and forget it.
And of course, since you have it you won’t need it!
But just in case you ever do, it will be there.
