I know Jasper is a large distibutor of engines. Is there anyone else that have competitive pricing or should I just go with Jasper? Also, I currently have a 302 but would possibly like to go with a 351C. If I do that, will I have to modify the hood? I have a 74. And, if I have to modify the hood, what type of company should do that type of work??? Will the 351C be a big improvement over the 302? And, if I go with the 351C should I keep it stock or go high performance. I do not want engine worries or leakage in the near future but I love horsepower and torque. How long does it typically take a crate engine to arrive after it's ordered??? Thanks for your help!

Go with the 351W instead of the 351C. The 351C is a higher reving engine with no low end torque. You will have to cut your hood or get a hood from one of the vendors to clear the 351.

Not to mention the big block bolt pattern, youll have to find a new transmission and then an adapter to go to your T case. Also youll need to find some headers, which im sure will be expensive.

I'm hoping you mean 351w. You will have all sorts of problems trouble shooting the 351c as there just aren't many EB's using that application. Don't get me wrong, it has been done and a buddy of mine is running the cleveland in his '73. If you are going to make the swap, there is no question that the 351w would be the best choice. You will be very happy with a stock 351w with few or no headaches. If you do decide to go with the built windsor, you will encounter cooling issues along with possible upgrades to the drivetrain, including tranny and ujoints. You will have fitment issues with both and will need a hood scoop or proflo style glass hood. You will also want to invest in a set of solid motor mounts such as Wild Horses brand.

I really hope you aren't serious on this...because a 351 Cleveland is a direct bolt-in for any small block Ford. There are a lot of guys who've done Clevelands and run them with no problems. The man to ask is most likely Madgyver. He runs a few Clevelands in his Broncos.

With that said, a 351 Windsor is easier to score parts for. These Cleveland parts are getting a little bit scarce.

Sorry. I meant 351W not 351C. Any suggestions about where to buy one? I run a NP435 transmission. Will that transmission work out ok???

:p :p :p If you dont use a high rise intake you can run the stock hood. And the 351W over the 302 is a BIG difference way more torque and stronger horse power and if you cam it and headers its a kick a$$ motor good luck with your choice. %) %) %) Bill  %) :p

Marshall Engines is booming and alot of good feedback from them. Comeback's are extremely low. They own Blueprint Engines to if you wanna spend a wad on a stroker... Check em' out. I would go with them before Jasper.
