Hey guys,

I'm putting a 99 explorer 5.0 and 4r70 in my build and had a few questions.
  1. Will the stock explorer motor mounts work/fit?
  2. Can the stock power steering pump handle hydro assist? Ive seen people take the guts out and do a super duty internals and also that WH sells a delphi kit but don't want to waste the money now if I don't have to. I'll be using a vacuum booster so hydraulic load will just be steering and the 8" steering ram.
  3. Will I have hood clearance issues with the coil packs if I'm on a 1" body lift? Looks like I could cut an inch or so out of the stock brackets.
  4. Anyone have any pics of their xmember setups using the 4r70w and the ZF adapter/clocking ring? Mostly looking for how people did it given front driveshaft clearance by mounting off the bottom of the 4r70w intermediate housing.

1. No, use the stock Bronco ones.
2. I have used the stock Explorer pump for hydro boost, but only for 31-33" tires. Someone else will have to chime in on the ram option...
3. Yes there will be clearance issues, cut out about an inch and lean it forward (down) on the Rad side. Watch clearance issues with back coil mountong bolt to the bracket and the fuel rail.
4. No experience on this, plan on using a 2" tube on the front shaft for pan clearance.

Here is my setup with 4R70W, ZF adapter, ZF crossmember with custom mount to trans. Front shaft is as small as it can be. I have a hi-pinion D44 so it hits the bell housing every once in awhile.
