I have always installed it on the injector rail where the Schrader valve is, its on the pass side.

After the filter, before the regulator. Anyplace in there will be the same pressure reading.

When I re-do my fuel rails at some point in the future, I'm going to install an in-line pressure gauge in one of the rails at the back of the engine on the driver's side. I have all the pieces - just need time to do the work. That gauge will eventually be replaced with an isolator and an in-cab mounted pressure gauge ($$). surfer-b's suggestion is also an easy place to install it although I want to keep that port open to bleed off pressure if needed.

So right now, i have the tap in the drivers side just as a place holder. i made a little bracket to hold the gauge over by drivers side firewall just to avoid having to lean into the engine to see it if i had put in at the schrader location. tapping into drivers side is one less piece of hose that runs behind the upper intake.

which side of the rail is the actual input? i thought it was the drivers side. does the regulator control pressure as it goes in, or act as an outflow restrictor which backs up the plumbing thus controlling the pressure? and which is more important to monitor, the pump output or effectiveness of the regulator?

Thx

Hank
