Just did the first test drive with great success, but I'm having problems with the Explorer rear disc swap. The left side axle lug bolt heads are making contact with the park brake mechanism on the left side. I've put washers under the heads of the retainer pins to pull the shoes tighter and keep the pins from making contact. After doing that it was still hitting the outer spring on the top of the shoes. Removed that spring, so now only one spring on the inboard side of the shoes on the top. During the test drive the heads of the studs were still hitting something in there making all kinds of noise. Anyone have this problem with theirs? How did you fix it? I have a video, but I have to edit it so it will be small enough to post.

I had that problem, but my axles were the wrong offset. Only on one side is odd. Not much help, but I’d double check the distance from the bearing to the wheel face, needs to be 2-1/2”, mine was 2.3”…..

This was my first thought when I read the OP as well.

Haven't measured yet, but I'm sure this is my problem. What axles should I order? Searches of the interwebs haven't been very helpful. Do I need custom axles? Living in Texas, the park brake is required. We don't have inspections any more, but I'd rather comply with the law then endure the hassle.

I machined spacers that fit between the bearing and the shoulder on the axle. I don’t remember the exact measurement, .200” is what I seem to remember.
