Hi, I know this was recently brought up but I can't find the thread. I'd like to look into the possibility of using the longer springs in the rear. The main issue seems to be the location of the rear hanger and then centering the axle. Has anyone here actually done this and have some pics to share? Thanks, Mark

I think they were discussing Chevy springs at first, which might mess with your searching.
And I think someone used Ranger springs as well.

It's been done successfully several times over the years. I never remember who did it, but it's been talked about.
I don't know if they used the existing end of the frame rail as their limit, or if they extended the frame to accommodate the longer springs. Adding a beefy rear bumper to the frame will certainly strengthen the mounting area, but that open fish-mouth end needs to be dealt with too if you decide to utilize the whole length.

Others have limited rearward push and re-drilled the hole for the center pin to locate the axle where they wanted.

Hopefully someone has pics.
Good luck.

Thank you Paul! I'd look into an axle under conversion as well. That end of the frame gets a little busy with bumper mount and spring hanger but probably not too hard to make work. The F150 springs are 58" x 2 1/2" from what I can determine. Mark
