I am buying a set of factory chrome bumpers to replace my Prerunner bumpers that I just sold. Does anyone know if any of the vendors sells a bumper that is any better than the others. Maybe a better fitting or looking than the other vendors. Wish someone would sell bumpers that have already been cut and shrunk to fit the the body width better. Ordering tomorrow so any input would be appreciated, thanks

I know Tom's sells a OEM quality and a show quality, about $60 difference a pair. No history with either...

I am leaning towards Toms right now, they have a package with front and back bumpers and bumperettes with bolts. Also noticed that BG has two different part numbers for front and rear. Wonder what that's all about, I thought they were interchangeable.

Those little holes would probably keep me awake at night also. Could you use some stove head bolts just like the ones that hold the bumper on. Maybe with a chrome head. Might not be that noticeable.

This is a show quality Toms. Fits great and hides my HD sub structure, I also love my flipped bumperettes out back.

I purchased the non-show quality chrome front bumper from Tom's and it looks great. Been on the truck for over a year, driven daily and through a salty Nebraska winter. No signs of pitting or oxidation from the salt. Can't say the same for the cheap auto store mirrors I bought last fall. The bumper came with an extra bolt and nut it fill the hole where the bumperet mounts. Pictures in my garage.

I got the Show quality bumpers from Toms. They quit carrying the others supposedly due to QC issues. They are pretty sweet and less expensive than chroming the originals. Also purchased alot of sheetmetal from them. Core support, inner fender aprons, pass kick panel and front door post, front floor pans, inner and outer rockers. The quality was very good. It took some messaging to get it all in but its done! Im tired of grinding spot welds!

How can they be called "show quality" if the rear ones have the funky bumperett holes??:? Plugging the holes with chrome bumper bolts or an upside down bumperett doesn't help.
Cummon vendors! Let's have some proper rear bumpers!

I agree, easier to stamp one bumper for both I guess. Less production cost would be the culprit. That would equate to more profits and that seems to be the name of the game nowadays. What gets me is why they don't make a bumper that fits better width wise. I know these came from the factory that way but 3"-4" off of each side changes the look of a bronco 10 fold. Just looks like it fits much better that way. Way too wide in my opinion. Maybe that's just me but doesn't look right with all that overhang.

Back in 1974 My Bronco came from the factory with the same bumper mounted front and rear and the factory filled the bumperette hole with a bumper bolt in the rear. My Bronco had bumperettes on the front. They didn't use a rear specific bumper on my truck. wish they did at the time. I hated the stock bumpers for their design and tore many pairs of pants on them. After I bent and broke the stock bumpers getting too close to rocks I got rid of them and went to real steel that will support the truck and actually protect the body.

If you got a new Bronco with those ugly holes on the rear bumper, the bumper was swapped out. And that happened a lot at dealers. It wasn't that way from the factory.
