Factory Wide Steel Wheels: What Are They Worth???

That is what is on my 69 kit stroppe. Mine were chromed but have been painted over. I am going to get them re chromed when the time comes.

Keep em and clean them up -- Ya I too think they're "Jeep wheels" . Real common "in the day" - that way we could pass em around/ share with the Jeep guys.

Agree that they are probably generic wheels. The contour of the rim is different than the Stroppes plus the big hole is a giveaway. Still very cool rims - but I doubt you'll get big money for them!

Back in the day, wheels like that were sold by the thousands to the sand tire people. Sand toys were not flashy back then, so everyone was buying wide plain steel wheels because they were cheep compared to other options. Sand tires were very expensive compared to the dollars you made.

Sand tires were expensive? I must be poor. And those rims look like Stocktons, OEM didn't have the valve stem that far in.

Those wheels you have on your 66 are Kelsey Hayes rims for a Jeep. The early Renegade pre-73 came with those and later came with slots. I believe they were also sold by Dick Cepek and other off road warehouses of the period.
