Nice drive this morning in the Bronco, enjoyed the road time and great views in Colorado Springs.....thought I might need some adjustments due to the altitude, but so far no problems. Holley truck avenger carb is working great....hopefully will continue at higher elevations. :)

My Bronco is broke down and is still in CO. Going to try to bring it back to Texas in December for the winter . . . that said, if you have moved to the Springs long term then chances are EFI will be in your future. This particular Bronco when sporting a carb would not run above about 11,000 ft and started running poorly above about 8,000 ft. This was with a stock 2150 carb - your Holley may work better. With EFI it runs great even over Imogene Pass at 12,800 ft!

I've run a carbureted Bronco to the top of Mt. Evans 14,271ft. with no problems. This was a truck sold in Denver. So some high altitude calibration was done at the factory. Anyone with a little skill can do the same. EBs are classics that weren't made with EFI. Mine will stay that way and that's no problem. Ford 2100, 2150, and 4100s are a lot better than Holleys and don't need much to work well over a range of altitudes.

You’re totally right. I de-tuned the carb for the altitude (5,500 ft) when I got here. I went up to gold camp this weekend which was another 5,000 ft. I was definitely struggling but luckily made it back down.

Been on that road many a time! It can be treacherous in the winter, but that was part of the appeal. Just be careful up there. Some crazy people do stupid things up there.
