I strongly suggest not using Facebook for info. So many people post incorrect statements on there. If you have a specific question this is the site to ask it. Most of the time there is no BS and the guys here are the most knowledgable and respectful bunch of bronco folks I have interacted with. I would suggest, if you want to know about broncos buying Todd Zuerchers book, Ford Bronco A History of Ford's Legendary 4x4. Lots of great information in there.

Other than this site the best thing to do is to meet up with some old school die hard bronco guys. They will be able to teach you the most for sure. The May it Forward event would be a great place to meet folks near your area.

With all that said broncos are like most cars and when you finally start tinkering on one is really when all the questions and knowledge starts to happen. I was a VW guy before I finally bought my first bronco and it was a pretty big learning curve and adjustment to start working on. Now I have 4 of them! I'd say it became an addiction.

Are you more interested in the Resto Mods (lifted, big wheels, big motor and flashy), Patina stock(original paint is ideal), LUBR (lifted uncut broncos, typically tend to look more stock but taller) or Hardcore 4x4?

100%, go out to events and meet fellow fanatics, see their mods, improvements, etc..

Great question! The coyote powered resto is too extreme of a change. Yet, power steering, power brakes and AC for summers on east coast would realistically make the truck something we can daily. I do like the cut fenders but not a deal breaker. Our family rides horses so while we don't need to tow very often, we drive into muddy barn roads multiple times a week. My daily is a 911 so it hurts my soul when my little coupe is covered in manure!

Welcome to the club JSol! You are in the right place - just budget some hours for all the rabbit holes you'll be diving into as you get up to speed.

Slight hijack - if anyone knows of an EB Club here in the Fla Panhandle, please advise. I'm on 30a, between Destin and Panama City Beach. Thank you - MKMc
thats where I am at too. I know a bunch of owners, there is a decent size event called the sand rover rally its about 40 percent defenders 40 percent broncos, scouts and a little bit of other stuff. what i have learned is its impossible to find good work down here.

I know I haven't posted in forever and my truck is a covereed in dust right now but THIS IS THE MECCA of INFO! There really isn't a better place on the internet for the classic bronco. The knowledge advice and people on bere are TOP NOTCH. You won't find a better group. I haven't been active in a loooong time but that is going to change in the coming weeks and months.

Good Luck with your build and welcome to the site!
