So, I spotted a decent looking EB for sale yesterday via the interweb.
I contacted the guy and he seemed pretty responsive to my emails and what not.
At the end of the conversation he told me to contact him today, after 3, to arrange a viewing of the truck.
Today at work, I sent him an email to ask him to contact me via text or call in the event the truck sold prior to my viewing it.
Per his request last night, I called after 3 today to arrange the viewing.
As of now I have not recieved one word back from the guy.

Maybe this is just pre-purchase anxiety. Maybe the guy is flaking out. I dunno. But I am about ready to start ripping up hardwood flooring with my bare hands I am so anxious about this purchase.

Worst part is, I took off work early today so I could make this happen.

Had to vent.

So, i finally got a response...
Apparently he had a long day at work and wanted to know if I could come up (1.5 hour drive) tomorrow instead.
My response was that it would have to be after 5pm, as I would not be able to pull off taking off work early two days in a row.

My wife seems to think that was a bit of a "dick" thing to say.
I disagree.

Thoughts?

I'm really okay with going after work. I suppose my commenting on "taking two days off early" was a bit of a negotiation manuever on my part. Try to throw a little guilt his way after he said "anytime after 3pm would be good."

I'm still solid on the actual purchase at this point, pending inspection of course.

nothing wrong with trying to make your dollar as important to him as it is to you, a little guilt goes a long way.

I think when this deal goes down it is going to happen pretty smooth.

Seems as though this guy picked this truck up as a part of a previous trade for an unspecified item. He has stated that he is not really a Ford guy and is not interested in hanging on to the truck. Additionally, his idea of "will need some body work" apparently consists of replacing a windshield and frame and touching up some rust in a rear quarter panel.

My idea of needs some body work consists of replacing striker posts, inner fenders, kick panels, floor boards, and maybe a portion of the bed. I suppose it is all a matter of perspective.

Good luck, and keep us posted. I don't think it was dickish of you, even if it didn't cost you anything. It did get you worked up, that's worth somthing.

Once you finally meet him, make the purchase, and get the title signed, then push him down in a mud puddle.
Or, make the purchase in cash, and on your way home call the cops and tell them you saw a guy (give his vehicle description with tag number) make a large drug sale in a strip mall parking lot.

Now: Denver area Bronco owners

Not to put the cart in front of the horse/Bronco here, but....
Any Denver area Bronco owners might have an extra spot in their driveway for a new acquisition?
My wife is sick as a dog right now so I am lacking a co-pilot to get the potential new purchase home.
I'd need to park it until next Monday when we drive back from KC.

Of course, this is all contingent on my actually purchasing and my not being able to find a co-pilot before I head up this evening.
