Flowkooler water pump questions

I'm in the process of installing a Flowkooler water pump and after buying new hoses and all the other stuff to install I read the instructions and on there it says "A wire-reinforced lower radiator hose is recommended for high volume pumps".
So one question is, Do they make the EB lower hoses with the wire in them?
The ones I bought over years did not have the wire nor did any body give me the option.
Has anybody had any issues running a Flowkooler pump with a lower radiator hose without the reinforcement?

In one of mine I had a generic hose that had the wire reinforcement inside the hose itself (Napa sold in specific various lengths - not the by the foot stuff). IMHO Better than the old steel inner springs tend to rust away.

I agree with the WH silicone choice. The lower hose needs to be the most reliable piece available. When they fail an engine can turn to junk in seconds. I've seen it happen. The extra cost is a lot less than what the pump cost you.

I'll likely be using a reinforced hose the next go-round, but have never actually had an issue with the regular ones either. Been running Flowkooler since the late '80's and no issues.

On the flip-side of that coin though, even people without high-volume pumps can often have their lower hoses partially to completely collapse when driving. Not something I'd like to have to deal with. Or diagnose either, when the motor runs hot!
Lot of times that could be the issue and we don't even know it.

So yeah, if you can find one, I'd run it.

Thanks for the replies guys!
Unless I can find a part# for a reinforced lower hose I guess I'll go the silicone hose kit route as I hate doing stuff twice.
