I have a FOMOCO stamped Mallory distributer that I will not be using. Wondering since it’s stamped does it have any sort of value? Or should it go in the trash?

Don't throw that away. It's better than any distributor of the same style being built today. Mallory is no longer in business, mostly because other companies made a cheaper product. The big difference between the old and the new is mallory used a better housing that had a bearing on the top and the bottom of the shaft. The new other brands run a bushing and a bearing at the top. That distributor looks like a marine version. The brass screen / vent on the side is kind of the giveaway. I don't think it came out of any rare. It looks like its been converted / no points anymore. It should be a good distributor. If you throw it away, throw it away to my address.

I’m with bax. Dizzies today are disposable. That one is a keeper for sure.

It is marine. And I just know nothing about it. I would use but I thought it was a points distributer because no vacuum advance or brain box, until I pulled the cap.

So my main problem is I have no clue how to set this up or other parts needed. Do I use a duraspark box?

It has value. Old school hot rodder for sure.
I knew right away (before you stated it) that it was a marine unit. That was the go to distributor for Ford marine engines for a long time.
It is a YL series, search Mallory YL and you will find all the information you want about it. That has had a electronic conversion, that is reversable back to points if you like.
Mallory was absorbed by the Holley overlord.
That is probably 60's, maybe early 70s.
I have one as well, happens to be in a marine engine sitting in the garage.
