I asked Jon about this several months ago and he wasn't sure if there was enough interest to do so, but was curious if others see value in Jon adding forums for all the earlier generations of Bronco? I know a lot of people have Broncos other than the Gen 1. I've been building a 78 for my daughter. I'm a member of other forums that I find helpful, but this has always been the best place for respectful knowledge and feedback.

I'd be a fan of the 78-79 big ones Maybe 1 other forum that covered 78 to 5th Gen all in one? Since he already set us up for 6th gen area

personally if Jon is in, wouldn't bother me anyway But I agree like you say, this is the best site/people you can find

I certainly would support adding a 78-79 Gen2 forum. With the solid front D44 axle the Gen2s have more in common with early Broncos then they do with the 80 and up Broncos. In reality all Broncos prior to the Gen6s are at least 27 years old which I think qualifies them all as "classics".

My 78 I've had since 08.

I'd support the idea, the overall tone of this site is one of the few positive sites left on the net. While i get why there is a 6G forum on this site, once you add it, dont the others deserve a forum too? 6G's have a lot of earning to do before they're classic.

Also, the ugly duckling broncos between 80-89 are some of the last affordable V-8 trucks around, and early 90's Fords are some of the best looking trucks ever made.

If this site can provide positive knowledge for guys looking to wrench on affordable Broncos for themselves, isn't that at least as cool as pictures of some dudes Icon? Or a $100,000 "I bought the peices and paid to have it assembled" classic? No hate to the latter, but WAY cooler, actually!

I'd say give'r.

I vote yes to a 78/79 Bronco Forum on here. Besides in the big scheme of things when needing help and looking for parts, they (for the most part/front end wise) are just like 73-79 Ford trucks. Well ok mostly 78/79 Ford trucks. But needing help looking for parts a experienced hand always helps.

There is one Ford truck site that is just like this place. Packed full of mature people, willing to help all they can and have 99.999% of all the correct answers. They have a EB forum, but it is nothing like this place. I am NOT talking about FSB (Full Size Bronco) either.

Just thinking out loud but I worry that opening it up to all the newer "classics" could possibly make this site like other forums that I won't get on. Too many egos and BS. PS I do like the 2nd gens.

I agree with @bronkenn. Seems like the adding of other models may dilute the quality of people on this site based off other forums. That being said, I think that it is worth a shot... I like other models of broncos, especially 78-79s and would love to see a forum on here dedicated to them as long as the site quality and integrity was upheld. If things get out out of hand it could always be removed I would imagine.

I've always owned both...66-77 and 78/79. And a few later models too. I still find FTE or FSB adequate for a forum for those..and made a number of good friends on FSB over the many years I've been a member. Adding a 78/79 section here...worthwhile "experiment" I guess...

Start small and work up to a larger representation. Try a Gen2 thread and see how much use it gets. The Gen6 thread is not bursting with newbie's destroying the quality of this site. As with anything, the passing of time makes changes... A true Shelby mustang from the 60's is rarely seen on street as it value is off the chart, are EB far behind given some the prices we are seeing at auctions? I think the knowledge base here can support more Gens, and if people get out of line with their posting, well they can be banned and or tuned up...
Personally, I would love to see a Tech article on Scoop's EFI conversion. I hope to be working with Modern Driveline on a TR 4050 5-spd conversion for my 79 in the near future.

I support the Gen2 idea. Like others said, might not generate a lot of traffic, but it is a good experiment. I am biased since I have a Gen2, but I would love to see more pictures and projects. Now I have to go look up Scoop's EFI stuff.......see, it is already working. ;)

Personally, I don't care for the idea - but then again, who the hell am I ? I frequent this site to read about the 66-77 CLASSIC Broncos, not the newer versions. The occasional question - ideally in the 'off topic' section isn't bad at all. Kinda like it currently is, along with other vehicle types, tractors, boats etc. Don't see the NEED for a change - just ask stuff in the off topic section.

NOW IF, all the newer stuff could stay segregated and not be mixed in with the current set up, that might work ok.

I will likely get ripped a new one for voicing my opinion since I am a dissenter, but oh well.

Then maybe some f-150s, then Raptors. Using the 20 year rule the Taurus is a classic. Let's not forget about the Ford probe.

Not to be a curmudgeon, but I feel like if we keep growing the site and opening it to all these extra generations it's going to water down the great gen 1 community we've got and the forums will start looking more like the garbage you see in a lot of the Facebook groups. Not my call to make but just sharing my .02.

I use this site because its CLASSIC BRONCO. I would prefer it stay that way. Even the G6 section in here would not be a choice of mine. I am on other sites that have added extra gens and it turns into a chitshow of worthless threads being hijacked and arguments by the keyboard warriors.
