So I sourced a full rear end from an early bronco I think a 72. I am a little intimidated after seeing a blow up parts diagram what do I need to do to be able to use it? It had oil in it no all the seals were intact.... Any help would be great. I am not afraid of a wrench but I am not a technical type mechanic yet. Thanks

What are you trying to do with this rear end?
Full rebuild?
Just need something to replace a bad axle?

What it takes to use it? anything from just bolting it in to a complete gut and rebuild. Has oil, good thing. Is it clean, well cleanish? not mixed with water? Did it come with brakes? How much do you want to put into it?

It is an awful open ended question. Way too many details lacking.

Sorry I am only needing it for the road. I would just hate for it to bind up om on the road.. It spins freely no water in oil just wanting to know if one should pull it apart and Grease things up or is new oil just fine?

Nothing to grease. But I would change the oil look for any metal in the oil. that will tell you a lot if all is good put in new oil and then I'd probably check the brakes make sure they are in good condition. I would probably also replace ther wheel bearings and seals just because of the unknown mileage factor as it would suck to have a wheel bearing go out going down the road.

Jeremy, do you know if the gear ratio is the same as your old one? If not, it might get interesting if you ever need to use the four wheel drive!
