Found: The Old PowerBlock TV shows

This must be discussed here somewhere, but I'll be dipped if I can find it.
I've been wondering what happened to the PowerBlock on Spike TV for a couple of months now. At least it feels that way.
No upcoming shows, no mention of anything, and just the occasional repeat of Search and Restore, which I didn't watch very often.

Finally just stumbled across the shows on a new (new to me anyway) cable channel. NBC Sports HD on DirecTV and one other channel I forget.

For those that are interested, the new show names are:

Power Nation for the overall group.
Detroit Muscle (for the old Muscle Car?)
Truck Tech (for the old Trucks!)
Xtreme Off-Road (obviously the old Extreme 4x4)
Engine Power (for the old Horsepower)

Most of the people have remained with their shows, but it looks s if there has been a slight bit of shuffling too. At least in the beginning.
And most of the advertising we're used to seeing on Spike has changed as well. New buildings, new tools, new everything it looks like. Even new sponsors, or at least waiting for some of the others to figure out how to jump from one ship to another.

I noticed that on one channel the listings are separated by individual show, while on the other channel they're listed as "Power Nation - Detroit Muscle" for example.

Hope that helps anyone looking for their old weekend retreat shows.
If you didn't like them and aren't interested in watching them now, just ignore this thread.
If it's been discussed elsewhere, I'd appreciate the link to it. I sure couldn't find it using any of the search terms I could think of. Including some of the names of the people.

Maybe this should be in the Off Topic section instead.

Yeah, I had originally just thought they were on hiatus or something, and would be coming back (even with just repeats) any time. When it dragged on, I thought the worst.
Figured that someone's contract was up and that they weren't getting along with the money matters.
Or they just got a better offer.

And CBS was the one I couldn't remember before. Funny to have the same shows on both a CBS and an NBC network in new-releases rather than re-runs. But since the whole thing has changed, I guess they've got something up their sleeves.

And I hate to think it was the network bumping them for some so-called "reality" show!
These types of shows are more reality than all the others put together.

That's interesting. I used their Search feature and only came up with the two channels listed. Nothing showing on Spike. I'll have to go back and check them out.
Just autorecorded two of the shows today, but they were just repeats of the previous shows I already caught.

Even if they did keep some on the same network, it kind of messes with your auto-programming when they go and change the names on you!

Just searched again and found them on all three of the networks we've been talking about. NBC Sports, CBS Sports, AND, like you said, Spike TV.

That's where the different ways of listing them comes in. As I mentioned, some listings show them just as, for example "Xtreme Off-Road" while another shows it as "Power Nation - Extreme Off-Road"
Only searching one of those ways (forget which one already) comes up on Spike.

One interesting change with the new shows. You can clearly tell that the announcer is the same guy from the old shows, but with a totally toned-down attitude. Like it's run by new producers and they didn't like the almost over-done word play.
I'm not one for the overblown "Sunday, Sunday!" and "Be there!" kind of announcing (annoyncing? ;D), but I thought they previously did a good job of keeping it middle-of-the-road in that respect. A little excited, but not crazy. Fun enough for the young and wild among us, but calm enough to satisfy the old farts in us too.
But now it's so casual sounding as to be almost boring.

I did notice too, that at least on the two shows I watched, they dragged things out more, but got into more detail about some interesting things. Might be to drag out show subjects through more episodes, to make up for the lack of commercial sponsors right now, or just because they didn't have more fill. But I liked the extra details.

I see mention of these being on FIOS, can anybody point me to the channel? I have HD service but not an HD TV (too cheap to set aside a perfectly good TV and buy a new one) so I can't see the HD channels.

Thanks Paul, I'm sure my husband was suffering from Powerblock withdrawal.

Yea thanks from me also as I had thought they were gone.
