I finaly got around to installing my 5.5'' lift went with the Deavers and cage arms. But now the question for what shocks to use?A buddy gets a good deal on fox shocks.Has anyone used the air shocks and do they work good when driving on the highway?Or would there 2.5 be a better choice?

Air Shocks are a replacement for a coil spring / leaf spring.
Fox does have other normal emulsion and remote mount shocks they are very good.

I dont know about on an EB, but they kick some serious butt on my MTB!

I would be interested to hear what more Fox shocks users have to say about them!

Fox shocks, NC Chapter

We are doing our best to support Fox shocks in at least one part of wNC-
Rigs:
1. 2.5 Fox airs on a Ranger truggy front, 5.0 with '79 D60, running either 42 TSLs or 39.5 Krawlers with 3link, 2.0s rear, 4link Dana 70 rear, no bed just tube, tool box and fuel cell
2. Used to be a '78 BB with fox 2.5 rears on a D70 and 44" TSLs, now another Ranger with 2.5s all the way around, 3link front, 406M,C6, 205/Klune with D60, 4link rear D70 , still running the 44 TSLs
3. A buddy who keeps his trail eb at my house is running coilovers front and 2.5 Fox air on a rear 4link Dana 70 with 42TSLs
Last but not least- 4 more 2.5 Fox on a buggy project waiting for completion..............
---When we all run our junk together we do carry a spare 2.0 just incase something crazy happens
--My ranger, the buggy, my buddy's ranger on the rear my buddy's trail eb on the rear are all running 14"
--NO complaints once we figgured out the oil ccs on the rear of my ranger, probably should have gotten the 2.5s-especially when it is full of tools, parts etc.-the fronts have not been changed on oil-just air for ride height..........
:)

This Ford F150 used Fox By-pass shocks from the factory.

Almost every racer that I have known personally uses Fox. They are certainly priced good for what you get. Here's a good sized list with several champions included.

The reason I tried Fox was because of the referrals I recieved from users. I am told customer service after the sale is much higher than Bilstein. I have yet to find out though. I'm also told parts are less expensive to rebuild and availability is also faster.
I did a search on here before I bought them and found natta.

I am running the 2.0 resi's on mine with custom valving. The truck hasnt seen any ride time yet, but I think they will be great. I have had them on other vehicles as well. I got mine from downsouthmotorsports (on Ebay) and they are about the cheapest I could find plus they will valve for free.

great shocks, as well are kings and swayaway. might want to look into swayaway if you want a long travel shock without the long overall length. typically with the 2.5 fox and king a swayaway of the same travel is 2in shorter overall.
if money isnt a huge issue, i strongly recomend a bypass, especially with leaf springs, it really makes a huge difference.
king makes a 2.0 double bypass, dont know if fox does. id go so far as to plug off the resivor to save money to get the bypass. the bypass tubes work wonders.
