front axle C bushings (squished too tight??)

I am almost done installing a 2.5" lifr from JBG that came with new bushings and i removed the old dried out C bushings and placed the new ones in making sure to correclty orient them according to the "lower rear - upper front" inscriptions on the inner faces. I tightened the radius arms pretty good ( i believe 100 ft-lb?) and the new bushings seem to be squished too tight,,,,, anyone has pictures of theirs? is this normal to see some deformation??

New "C" bushings always seem too tight, or too big. Notice the bolts are still long enough to start. Run 'em tight, let 'em squish. Just make sure you have the upper, lower, front, and rear bushing properly oriented around the axle.

I just had a set of rancho's split in half on the Rubicon but luckly they did not pop out. Got a new set from Duffs and after tighten they stuck out aprox. .25" on each side . I would like to know just how much {crush} is required, maybe a shim could work if we new the correct diamentions that ford used. I am not sure the after market stuff is made the same and maybe they just stick out more.

Well.. since they go inside a 'housing' (the radius arm and cap) I dont think you can really over-squish the bushings. Once the cap and arm come together, thats it, no more squish, just torque the bolts down to spec (wont squish the bushings anymore). Shims sound like a bad idea to me... that stuff need to be pretty strong, lots of abuse there.

Who did you get the bushings from? Call em and ask if if it something you should expect or panic about. ;D
