Fuel Fill Issues

All of a sudden, I am having trouble filling my '77 with fuel. I have a BCB 23 gal tank and I can not get the gas pump hose to stay on. It keeps shutting off like the tank is full. It takes forever to fill the tank. I have been to different gas stations and have the same problem. Any ideas?

Same problem. I have to turn the handle counter clockwise a bit, and then can dispense full force.

I have tried turning the handle all around and pulling it in and out. It is bizarre. I have never had this problem before.

Most people with the BCB tank have this problem I have found unfortunately.... has to do with venting apparently. Lots of threads on here about it if you search

I searched around and could not find anything. If anyone has a link to a thread, please post.

It's the venting. Same problem on my Bronco when I bought it, the previous owner had plumbed the vent with the return line for the fuel injection.

Although your tank is different, its the venting.

I don't remember seeing any comments on this other than with stock tanks. Experienced the same with my original tanks (both of them) but don't remember anyone saying that about the aftermarket versions.
Another thing I'll have to check on I guess!%)

Have you been under there to inspect for any faults with the large vent hose a74Ranger? A friend had one with the hose kinked, but for some reason it worked fine for months, then stopped one day. On a weekend trip of course!
Maybe check for kinks, or just old age deteriorating the inside of the hose. Seen that a lot too, especially if it's ever been replaced with less-than-quality or non-fuel rated hose.

Curious to see what you find. Maybe someone stuck something in the filler as a trick-or-treat preview?;D

It definitely has to do with venting. If there's any way a bug or wasp can get in, they can plug the vent hose. It would probably be easiest to just replace the old vent hose, with brand new
