anyone installed axle with front leaf springs. I saw a bronc with that set up on the street the other day. it looked nice all lifted and stuff. anyone have pics or how to about that.
I’ve seen two or three over the years, none of which I say were an improvement or even safe.
It seemed to be a standard mod to all the ones I’ve seen to add an approx. 10” spacer between the pitman arm and steering box, you be the judge of the stress’s that will put on the sector shaft and the drag link and tie rod clearances seemed questionable to me.
First question I’d ask myself is what is the advantage of doing it?
Hope this helps, Francois.
ive seen someone in 4WD magazine that was running leafs up front, but it was no ordinary bronco, 44 boggers, rockwells, the works. its red an yellow, dont know if anybody has seen it before.
Yeah dont they call them scouts? I have seen 1 decent setup when I was up in utah it was an orange one I think he has been in some rock crawlin events but it seems like more hassle than its worth especaily with todays coil springs and extended radius arm setups. I think you loose some approach angle because the axle probably get moved reward a little.
