Gear brands. Never used Motive

Buddy can get stupid cheap price on new 9" gears from Motive.

I always run a different brand.

Feedback on Motive?

I have a friend who ran them in his HPD60/14-bolt equipped off-road rig with full lockers and 42" sticky SX's for years without issue. It was on the street for a while too, but then got too beat up for that since it didn't have any lights or exterior mirrors left. Engine was a Ford 400 w/ Aussie heads mated to a C6 and 203/205 doubler. He did the gear setup himself and said it was pretty easy to get a decent pattern at the time...broke a lot of stuff after that, but diff gears were not one of them.

I like them, typically they are quiet and have never had one hard to set up. Motive and USA Gear are my go to. Second is OEM (spicer, AAM, Ford) third is Yukon, after everything else, Richmond.

Have a few friends running them in various vehicles and haven’t had any issues.

Motive is a good gear.

Been around a LONG time and considered one of the best, at least back in the day when I was paying attention.
These days, I no longer know who is who, who owns who, who recently bought who, and who is still made in the US or has gone totally overseas.
Hard to keep track anymore!
