• Be EXTREMELY cautious if someone offers to buy your Bronco for more than your asking price and sight unseen. ESPECIALLY if the buyer is overseas. It's probably a scam.

It is a car part/Vin with a title. I don't see a problem.
Keeping in mind the seller has not removed the Vin from its attachment point.

I'll agree with him 100%, a $2000 glove box door is very hard to come by lol. :)

This has FBI/DMV written all over it. This is basically fraud. He is offering the ability for someone to revin/title another Bronco. Not a great practice! In 2010 this very practice got a buddy of mine who was building Eleanor Shelby clones thrown in the pen. He was buying rusty non buildable fastbacks cutting off the roofs and swapping the VIN and roof onto rustfree coupe bodies.

jesus! FBI!! that's crazy....yeah this doesn't look to be the most legitimate thing to be advertising.

I was always confused about vins, frames, bodies etc and what was legal and what wasn't

here in Canada, you would def get in trouble for doing this also

Thank you, I tried to point this out to everyone a few months ago. Yes it is a federal offense. Lets say you have this fully restored Bronco. After all your hard work. Some dirt bag has one that is all rust out. See where this is leading to. Thanks for bringing this Back out to the front line.

Anyone who needs a vin to title a box of parts needs to realize that the frame vin for this truck will most likely supersede the glove box door. I'd have no issue if both were available together.

I would venture to say that there are quite a few Broncos rolling that do not have matching VINs on the Frame and Glove Box

When I registered both broncos in CT they only looked at the glovebox. They are both legit matching however. I didn't know where on the frame to direct them to at the time.

It probably would work but is a stiff potential penaly for a very limited reward.

In NC they only checked the glove box door. The catch I had to reinstall the dash to do it. I even had a creeper, mirror, and flash light to inspect the frame vin and they didn't care to look at it.

So what if you have the frame vin and the glove box vin together? Would that be legit to sell?

The glove box tag is just a warranty tag, period. you can get a reproduction through Marti. Just like the decal that goes in the drivers door jam. To be truly legit, the frame and the title are what counts, period. everything else is readily available as a reproduction. Some clerks at DMV offices do not know or care. Mustangs have the VIN stamped in several places on the unibody, but as a unibody, they don't have a frame. Broncos have the VIN stamped in a few spots on the frame, but the body doesn't have anything other than the warranty tag in the glove box and GVRW sticker in the drivers door jam. Anybody that uses just a glove box door and title to register a bronco is putting themselves at risk of having their ownership questioned. When the guy with the frame shows up with a title and his frame, it will get real messy.
