My 66 HC is going away this weekend. Its badly rusted body will be shredded to pieces and melted down and sent to who knows where. I will keep the frame, but I dont know why. It is badly rusted too. I just can't throw it all away at one time. This truck gave all it had and now it is time to say, Goodbuy.

A pre-'76 title (glovebox and frame VIN tags) is worth something to those of us in severe smog controlled states like CA. I believe '75s and older are exempt from smog testing. I'm not saying I condone this but if a '76 or '77 were to magically become a '66, it wouldn't need to be smog tested. It is still required to meet smog regulations, just doesn't need to be tested to prove it does. Enables all sorts of engine modifications without worrying too much. I own a '73 so I don't worry about my 5.8SEFI, which probably runs cleaner than the oil burning engine it replaced a few years ago.

Final ride

It's gone. I took it on its final ride. I only have one now, it's a nice 68 and it's going to twice as nice as piece of junk 66. I,m getting over it already.
