First a little back story. My Dad had a co-worker years ago who had a few Broncos through the years. He would buy some, drive them and sell them from time to time. There was one in particular he held on to for quite a few years. Dad used to tell me it was supposed to be a military Bronco, but I had never seen it to know if it was for sure.
One day early this year while riding around killing time, we decided to go check it out. It was indeed a '67 Military issue Bronco, and one of the most complete ones I have seen. After it's use in the Military, it was used by Talladega Rescue Squad or the Fire Department (Not sure which yet). It still has the rear bumper, fender mount mirrors, headlight guards, and the ever popular dash plaque. And on the plus side, it's extremely solid!
Needless to say, I was in love with it and had to have it. But, I couldn't ever seem to get a deal worked out.
Fast forward to yesterday evening, Dad's former co worker calls him and says they are ready to sell it, and at a fair price to boot! I went and told him I'd take it and picked her up this morning.
After some research, I found out that this Bronco and Phoneman's Military rig's VIN numbers are only 2 digits apart! (bigcountry's former Bronco).
Here are some pics of the new find! Just thought I'd share with everyone. I plan on it being at Townsend next year. I'm honored to own a piece of history!
