I have a kit of all new parts laying around but, no backing plates. Do these disk brakes require backing plates? If so, where can I find some?

No they are not really needed, more things to have rocks to get trapped in between.

Thanks Skiddy.

I guess this will lead to my next set of questions...

How many people don't use backing plates?

Have you experienced any issues with your brakes related to not having the backing plates installed?

TIA: ;D ;D

I don't have disc's on my bronco yet, but some of my other vehicles I either ended up taking them off and ohters just bent the crap out of them as not to collect debris. I think this came up before here and I think about maybe about 50/50

I don't use dust shields on my front discs and they have worked just fine for the past 2 years.
