Just finishing up my project and would like to wire the headlights and turn signals for a wall plug in. Anyone done this or have some words of wisdom as to how? Thanks in advance.
Howdy. you need to transform AC to DC using a transformer, variac or a DC power supply (aka transformer) if you will have it on a lot. transformer needs to be able to carry all the current. likely 150 - 200 watts depending on how hard you want to run it. if only using rarely, you could use a spare battery hooked to a trickle charger. once converted from AC to DC, then its the same as the vehicle (ground to ground, hi beam to high beam etc with some fused protection in case something shorts out. you should be able to wire in a flasher can if you want the turn signals to operate. stock wiring diagram has all the deets.
Hank
BTW grill looks great
If I were doing one I would use all 12v bulbs or LED, and run them off of an A/C to D/C converter.
Hell Chuck, if you just want it to glow and not actually throw a beam take a string of the small Christmas lights, incan or led, and cut out the lights in between the two sides. Solder in a strand in between. It's already set up for 120.
And the back...
