Gt40p head question?

Do I have to remove the gt40p heads in order to replace the lifters on a all stock 97 explorer or just the lower intake?

Just the lower intake, Heads can stay in place

What’s everyone’s preferred method for setting back lash on pushrods?

Tighten until slight resistance, then 1/4,1/2, to 3/4 until 20ft pounds is achieved under a full turn?
Do you do this while the lifter is primed or unprimed?
