They are so effective that I use them routinely on every used balancer in every build I do. It is essentially a 'better than new' repair.

For the same reasons, I use Speedi sleeves on driveline yokes and even wheel spindle seal surfaces.

Used them. Never had a problem. Good fix as long as the rest of the damper is in good shape.

I've used them on several occasions with great success.
I found the entire speedy sleeve product line in a pdf a few years ago.
This should be it. http://www.skf.com/files/344136.pdf
I'm not at my home computer to make sure that's the one that I have used.
Referencing there product numbers, I have called around to the parts houses with mixed results. Then I'll just get them somewhere online.

Some do carry them (my local NAPA does) but typically those that do carry them cater to commercial shops and rebuilders..not your typical Advance or Autozone in other words. I've played heck trying to get a typical Advance counter person to even understand what I'm after.

In the world of professional rebuilders, that harmonic balancer sleeve is included in the "small parts kit" which also has a new crank key, cam gear retaining bolt, head alignment sleeves and a couple other usefull and usually hard to find bits. Those kits can be found on line..

Edit: And then there is Chicago Rawhide/SKF direct..as noted above. I buy mine that way for most applications, from the wholesale distributor that we also buy bearings and seals from.

I bought a Felpro timing cover gasket set from RockAuto.com and the sleeve was included.

Clean the balancer up and put it in the freezer over night, makes install easier.

And warm the speedi-sleeve--I usually put it in front of the heater (in the winter) or set it on black surface in the summer (100 degree weather) and then smack it on with a wood block.

and seal the surface the sleeve goes on, don't put it on dry, I forget offhand what version of locktite... Anyone?

This locks the sleeve on the shaft and seals it from leaking.
