Has anyone mounted the 23 Gallon main tank in the bed?

I have the NWP 23 gallon steel tank I'd like to move to the bed since I smash it all the time when I drop off ledges. Sure I could do a skid plate or something but I don't use the bed for anything besides my spare and tools (and beer) so I'd like to setup the back to hold the tank, the spare, and all the tools. Ideally a nice rectangle fuel cell would be optimum but I'm broke and have a perfectly good tank already.

Has anyone else moved their main tank to the bed? Got pics?

Sweet, thanks for the link. I wonder if that changes the weight distribution enough to notice it being in a higher position than stock?

Depending on bed condition you cut cut out a panel and then move it up enought to be safe but not all the way above the bed. Gas is ~6 lbs per gallon, so 150 lbs would be moved up higher. Would be like having another person up riding in the rear passenger area.
