I have purchased one in the past from either Jeff's Bronco or Wild Horses.

Wild Horses has the best in my opinion. They are made just like the originals. The other vendors are all made with plastic backing instead of steel like the originals. WH dashes are steel backed.

That's a '66 in the picture. I learned this weekend that the '67s are slightly different.

Hi Todd, what was the difference? Never noticed there was one. Could it be a random anomaly?

Good price on that dash pad someone should grab it.

Jim:

I wish I had pictures! Along the bottom edge, I was shown the '66s have the raised edge/lip while the '67s are smooth/flat in that area - perhaps to allow the installation of the '67-only Sport molding along the upper edge of the dash.

Others may have other experiences/knowledge.

Looks like ours was patterned off the 66 (not sure now);D. I can see the raised edge. I would like to see pics of the 67 if anyone has that smooth edge. Any 66s out there with the smooth edge? Also just interested in who has what 66/67 are you sure it's stock. Seems like we have been selling this dash for about 10 years and never noticed this difference.

When it comes to stuff like this with FORD back in the day you could have a mid year change. Very random and often hard to know exactly what changed and when. Thanks for the heads up.

Credit to Tim Hulick (eaglesnest66) for pointing that out to me.

He came to visit last weekend and we looked at a very early roadster (732205) and he gave me an education!

This is the spare dash that came with my 66, looks like it’s year correct, has a sticker on the back side but I can’t read it

Jack: Do you think they used different ones between regular and Sport for '67?

That edge is the one I was referring to as being used for all '67s.

Not sure.
I talked to House about it maybe he can chime in and tell what he has seen.

I believe there are two different dash pads.
There is a 66/67 pad with 4 screw recesses. These would be found on all 66 and early 67 models with the Sport model only having the lower dash trim.
Makes sense for Ford to use up old inventory like other "66" parts. Not sure when the change was, (maybe January? Need more VIN info) but the recesses
disappeared, the screw location was lowered, increased to 7, and more evenly spaced. When that change happened the upper Sport trim was also added.
The non Sport models utilized the same dash, just without the trim, until the newer "safer" pad was introduced for the 1968 model year and used through 1977.
Maybe someone like eaglesnest with a lot of 67 info has seen a clearer cutoff...?

Broncojacks photo is a great example showing the lower screw holes and how the upper trim clips fit on there.
Here is a good example of the earlier 66 style in a 67 Sport with only the lower dash trim, and the infamous Silver Fox with both pieces of trim...

I'm in Bronco Awe. I've seen them with the trim piece on but I always thought it was attached to the metal on the dash not the dash pad. I think this particular arraignment is pretty rare.
