ON live tracking there are approx. 20 cars showing right now on lap 2 (red), the rest are still on lap 1 (green). Hatchett racing is shown on lap two so that is great news.

I just got a text from Kirstin, the wife of one of the crew who is out there with them. She asked that I post an update that they had a solid race, but did not finish. They are stuck near Jackhammer and they are on their way back from recovering the rig now.

Throttle cable got stuck, steering linkage broke, and they lost their trans cooler fan. Thomas had to hike from RM 77 to to pit 2B and back, and this was after the crew fixed a power steering line at Pit 2A.

Well darn, they had a good strong start. I was hoping they were going to make it.

Last I saw them was at wrecking ball and they were doing well. Sucks they didn't make it- they were running strong.

this is a fun race but its really hard on equipment and drivers. IMO just finishing is a win, a podium can just be icing on the cake:) I know they had a great time, its an addictive race.

Last year only 17 finished mostly do to a massive pile up at chocolate thunder over half the field was tied up there for over 3 hours. But even with out that normally there are only 30-35 out of 150 that actually finish.

Quote from Krawlers Edge Facebook page:

We would like to thank everyone for their support of our newest endeavor! It was a long day! We, unfortunately, came up with a DNF. Broke the driver side steering linkage in North Jackhammer. Thomas hiked over a mountain, literally. It took him 2 hours to get to pit 2, fix the part, then he hiked back and repaired the vehicle. While he was gone Travis repaired the throttle cable which required pulling the entire dash. When we broke we were 3rd overall. Basically we were taken names with over 60 trucks competing. In the end the truck rolled into pits under its own power! Pretty kick ass day! KE and Hatchett Racing...what a team!

Great showing for the first time out from a group of great folks. Very cool to see people you attend events with competing in arguably one of the premier off road events in USA-and doing well till parts failed. Driver, co-dog, crew and families should be proud. Safe trip home.

What a day! A huge thanks to our family and friends for the continued support. Unfortunately, we didn't finish and came up with a DNF. It was a very long day and broke the driver side steering linkage in North Jackhammer.

A big shout out to Travis' co-driver, Thomas Kincer and our awesome crew! Thomas hiked for two hours and over a mountain, to get to pit 2, my crew fixed the part, then Thomas hiked back and they repaired the vehicle. While Thomas was gone, Travis had to rig the throttle cable which required him pulling apart the dash and had to use a cable as a hand throttle in order to get down Jackhammer. When they broke, they were 3rd overall.
