hey guys,

we need some quick help to identify a set of heads, being told this is a cleveland motor and only set of numbers we can get are from the head castings. anyone know of a good sight that lists numbers for references? (passenger side) and told its a V2

here are the numbers D5AE-2 and what might be a triangle. any help will be great thanks

Well they are not 351C heads.. 351C stopped in '74. 351m and 400 used D5AE-AA head castings in '75 engine year.

How many valve cover bolts on each head and where is the thermostat cover mounted?..in the block facing up or on the intake manifold facing forward?

will get back to this in bit, going to look at it now, looking for the straight water intake on the intake manifold and looking for 8 bolt to the cover. if those are there this should be a 351c, keep ya informed. if things work out this will be going into a 66 that we are working a deal on, laters guys thanks

Make sure it's not a 351m or 400 instead of a '351C'..like I said in my last post, 'D5' heads never came on a 'C' so if it is a 'C' and has those heads then somebody stuck 'em on there from a 351m or 400..not that that makes a hill of beans difference on performance but it matters for engine ID. The 351m and 400 are identical to the 'C' in terms of valve covers an t-stat location (which is NOT in or on the intake..all Cleveland engines (351C/351m/400) have a dry intake)..but with a much taller deck height than the 'C' engine, and the same bell housing pattern as 429/460 engines.
