Header Collector Gaskets

I have used several headers on builds through the years. For the headers to head surface I have been successful by first taking a long flat file to surfaces, using copper high heat gasket maker on both sides of paper gasket, and then torquing from inside out.
However, the three bolt flat flanges have always leaked over time. I’m going to try the newer aluminum gaskets and see how they work.
I read a blog about guys using exhaust donuts at the flange. It fits just inside the tube edge of header and pipe and it is pressed tight using slightly longer bolts. Guy said no leaks for ten years. Anybody try that?

I've been using the aluminum 3-hole donuts for years with good luck. I've heard of guys with leak issues stacking 2 in there. I run the copper gaskets with black rtv at the head

I've been using these 3" 3 hole gaskets from amazon with good results.
