I've got a 69 351w in my 69 bronco. The radiator hoses were opposite and looked bad. I'm trying to correct this. I put a 69 bronco 302 water pump on to get the hoses to match up with the radiator. I have a double water pump pulley. I drilled out a 302 3 bolt crank pulley to 4 bolt to work on the 351 balancer. The 351w crank pulley was too big and was hitting the water pump pulley. Now the problem, the crank pulley sticks out and does not even come close to the water pump pulley???? Is there a different water pump which has a longer nose? A different balancer? Help Please!

yep I think you are right. I compared 302 to 351 balancers. the 302 looks flat on the front. the 351w has appox a 1 1/2" spacer. Got a new one coming from tom's.

I just did the same thing. New pulleys and a new harmonic balancer. The timing pointer is now under the waterpump so you will want a driver's side pointer also.

yep basically got rid of all the 351w stuff. put on a 302 water pump, balancer, pointer, alt brackets, p/s brackets. made some relocation brackets on the heads which centered up the bolts for 302 accessories. looks much better and everything fits. I would not have guessed a 351w timing housing was the same as 302, same with balancer. not sure why the factory didn't use/modify the 302 stuff ? that's Ford I guess.
