I have 4 holes in the top of my lower intake that I need help with. The first is behind and to the driver's side of the water temp port. The other 3 are on the back of the manifold. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Tim

The 3 hole mounting pad in the back was mounted a smog pump diverter valve. My california 1967 mustang had that. Very few Broncos used that pad if any.

The 3 holes were to secure and seal a plate that had a nipple to hook up the PCV on early 260s and 289s till about '64. These engines had baldy valve covers with no oil filler or PCV provisions. Here's ;http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-2-Barr...rlane-Mustang-Comet-/111896046226?hash=item1a an intake with the plate secured with the 3 bolts. Here's a '63 with the early PCVplumbing;http://www.ebay.com/itm/FORD-1963-2...ash=item210f78d1c1:g:hcgAAOSw3mpXLPVa&vxp=mtr. Ford didn't change the basic casting any more than they had to, as years proceeded.

The 2 larger threaded holes are harder to ascribe a purpose to. I know in the '80s, Ford used the rear one for a knock sensor. The size and placement would make great attachment points for an engine lift. They would be more than strong enough.
