Help with 3 on the tree

I Have a 73 with a 3 on the tree and when I'm driving the shifting locks up and won't go into any gear or neutral. I can reset it by manually adjusting the shifting linkage. I think the shift levers have probably worn out so I'm going to replace them. How do I do it?

Are there any manuals/books/videos on how to rebuild a stock steering column?

Anybody written a tech article?

Thanks

Although by now it's likely you're right and the bushings and sleeves are worn out, maybe a quick try at re-adjusting the levers and rods to compensate for some of that wear will give it a new lease on life?

Might be worth a half an hour now, to keep the vehicle in service a little longer.

It spells it out in the manuals, like Chilton's and Hayne's, so if you've got one of those, look for that info.
If you don't, I'll see if I can rustle it up for you. Pretty straightforward if I remember, but not necessarily "intuitive" as they say these days.
