I'LL Bet she has no Cell service.
... Yes Big Ben is sure on my list of things to do. While I was single 1995+ my mother & I were headed out there one spring, but it got Hot & she decided we needed to go home. I really think it was just farther out there than she expected. But I still would love to do that trip.
... I'll add a 2nd story about The Big Bend.. Mother was an old school teacher. & she also worked for the State of Texas over 54 county's Supervising Schools. So she met a lot of Texas People ...
.... So Mom met Hallie Stillwell. Stillwell & Her husband owned 2 or 3 big ranches in the Big Bend. one ranch is or was the Elephant Mountain Ranch .. Other is the Dove Mountain Ranch. Hallie wrote a little book about her life in Big Bend area .. ''I'LL GATHER MY GEESE'' ... I don't read but it's a great book of her memories. I've lost my Signed copy. Signed & autographed to mother. Hallie & her husband married about 1910+ He was about 20 years older than she. I believe she was only 16 when they married.
....3 rd story about Big Bend area that Most people want ever know.. Texas reintroduced the Texas Big Horn Sheep into Big Ben area. SO you can register to win a Big Horn Sheep hunt once a year. Texas gives 3 permits away yearly. one hunt is given to the People of Texas .. I believe ticket chances are $10.00 each. 2nd hunt is given away to the 6 or 10 land owners in the area. They can use it or sell it.. Most sell it as it brings about $60,000 each.... 3Rd ticket is given to the Texas Big Horn Sheep Society.. It auctioned off at the Dallas Safari Club in January each year. One year the hunt brought $180,000. and the Dr. never went on the hunt.
.... These Big Horn sheep have drifted into Mexico & there are more in Old Mexico than in Texas now. Also you can Join the Texas Big Horn Society. Only cost about $40.00 a year & you get the invention to go to a work day ''weekend'' .. Each year they build water tanks or fences or shelters That also gather water from due that drips into tanks. They also have a WEB CAM set up for the internet. You can pull up Texas Big Horn Web Cam .. I haven't use it in over a year .. But you can view pictures of the Sheep Deer Mountain Lions & Fox Coyote & Blue Quail that come to the water.
..... Also for those of you that don't know the Desert Blooms about April each year. It is said to really be the best.
..... I was not trying to High Jack KSM'S Post. But that some of the Big Bend Attraction you could very easily miss.

Yes, hubs are locked and it's a new transmission so I don't
know if that makes a difference. I've been driving it for two days
now and it's running like a dream . My dad's alternator went out
In his Jeep so he's trucking it. I offered to tow his jeep behind my Brinco
And almost got a swift kick in the butt. Heading
out to the list quicksilver mine today. See y'all on the flip side.

I think my contributor status expired yesterday so posting a photo was a pain. And most of my photos are on the DSLR. I need to get on the road but the ladies are in a freaking gift shop. Were in Big Bend and theyre in a gift shop. Waste of daylight. But I bought my daughter for her birthday a telescope so this is the perfect place to use it. The Milky Way is bight and clear out here. You can see satellites, shooting stars are about two an hour, and a few border patrol drones.

I getting off their WiFi and going to wipe the drool off my bronco. Its getting a lot of attention out here.

I hear your on the gift shop thing, some folks can't see the forest for all the trees in the way. Great pic and keep the adventures coming - for those of us stuck behind the screen.

U might want to check if they are having a star show at the Observatory in Ft Davis. They usually start around 10 pm.

We'll it's Saturday morning and I'm about to
be out of cell range. Hopefully I won't be
riding home in a tow truck. For now...here's a photo
of my Broncos first taste of mud. Try not to be
too impressed:

That's going to require some clay bar love once you get home!
