A friend owns Twisted Customs and that's pretty much all they use for their high end buggy builds, great heavy duty product.

For the front as the center of a 609 ?

Or on the rear?

High pinion on the rear is weaker because it is on the coast side, just as low pinion on the front is weaker.

I have seen them in a few mags and thought the were cool. Then I saw a set on a CJ7 jeep and was impressed! The truck looked like it had a mild lift, then you looked under it and man did it have a lot of ground clearance for a truck with only 35" tires. But they are pricey!

Builds them for both front and rear, True High Nines are pure custom nothing at all like using a normal 9" flipped over, they even have a 10" gear option. Twisted builds them using all the Spider Trax unit bearing ends, can add up to some serious $$ real quick. I have one of their pro series housing out in my shop right now :) http://www.spidertrax.com/products

hi9's were actually designed for daily driven rigs. We run them in our comp crawler and never have any issues. In a 609 front application there is not a stronger unit out there unless your go to gearworks for their 10" stuff. In a rear they are not as strong as a low pinion 9 but still stronger than a stock 9" and if your building a complete center section with all aftermarket parts they are not hugely more expensive, only about 10% more. In a rear they are great unless you have lots of power and drive like a ham fisted, knuckle draggin neanderthal, then you really need to look at stronger options like a Dana 80 or 14 bolt.

I run one in the rear. I think there great. Solved my driveshaft / pinion angle problem. Truck runs smooth down the road.

Strength was the only issue I've heard of, but it doesn't sound like it's really that much of an issue, so if your not throwing tons of torque at it I would go with it.

I have one in my yet to be driven project with a 408. It'll likely scare the snot out of me and I'll never drive it hard enough to break it!

I run Hi9's in the front and rear in my trail bronco. Only have 750 miles on them at this point, but no issues on or off the road. They have helped save my driveshafts on multiple trails. Got the skid plates from Blue Torch Fab as well, they compliment them nicely!
